Why Residency?

Residency is a means of communication and co-operation. It provides a possibility for individual creations and group collaborations to break through limitations, which might come from the environment, culture, experience... Residency means temporary migration, not only to bodies, but also thoughts and the courage. There will be unknown possibilities and fresh stimuli that will contribute to a new round of mutual inspiration.

Why Chongqing?

Chongqing is a culture pot melting with the city, towns, counties, villages, mountains, the water and docks. Life elements of humanity, history, aestheticism and visuality are spreading over the city. You can embrace it from scene transferring visuality to scattered village-like layout in the city, from diverse urban communities to developing internationalization. This is the epitome of contemporary urban culture of Southwestern China.

Why Huangjueping?

Fortunately, there is a space. We spent nine years exploring the potential of managing an experimental theatre and discovering the meaning of experimental art creation.

Fortunately, we have YINZI Theatre, a place for multi-art creation communications, to subversive the think that theater is the physical space that can only provide performance activities.

Introduction to resident apartment

The YINZI Artist Residency Apartments opened in 2018.The apartment is located at Huang Jue Garden (just a 8 minutes walk to 501 Art Base - the site of the theatre) in Huang Jue Ping. The apartment has an open view, convenient access and complete amenities，which is 80 square meters with three bedrooms and one living room.  The apartment contains a queen room and a bunk room, which can accommodate 4-5 people at the same time. The apartment serves as a complement to the theatre and provides comfortable accommodation for resident artists and exchange scholars.
