To-gather -- To see To say
TTWF aims to promote cross-cultural exchanges among international independent female performing artists and to empower them to develop cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary co-productions.
“To See” refers to observing the creative atmosphere of female artists, while “To Say” indicates an encouragement for them to speak out. Performing art is their area of expertise. We hope that, through whatever means of communication, creators and observers from different regions who also share our artistic vision will connect as roots and blossom like flowers, stimulating and inspiring each other in different cultural ecologies.
To-gather: " To See, To Say", The New Wave of Performing Arts Project for International Female Artists (short name TTWF) is promoting exchanges and collaborations between Chinese and Swiss women performing artists and building a vibrant performing arts network.
In December 2023, Swiss artist Lara Dâmaso, the first TTWF participating artist, examined the life style of the Yi people, an aboriginal people living deep in the mountains of western China, and the ecology of the local performing arts, and held a workshop: Sound and Movement in an outdoor theatre on the slopes of the Linhai Mountain at the 5th Daliangshan Theatre Festival. Through sound, dance and movement, the audience is brought into a collective vibrational exchange.
Afterwards, she and project initiator Hu Yin visited the Chongqing Jing Xiqu center, a local institution of traditional Chinese opera culture in Chongqing, participated in a studio gathering of local independent artists from Chengdu and Chongqing, and finally spoke at the first TTWF Performing Arts Residency Network and Conference held at the Chongqing Times Art Museum.
